Private cruises on the Żerański Canal

The Żerański Canal is a 17-km waterway connecting the Vistula to the Zegrze Reservoir, and consequently to the Bug and the Narew. The construction of the canal started in the mid-nineteenth century and was part of a broader project, i.e. the creation of a new waterway connecting the Vistula and the central basin to the Baltic Sea through the Narew and the Niemen.

The role and functions of Żerański Canal changed following the construction of the Żerań Port, the Żerań lock and the Zegrze Reservoir (1963).
